Susan Masino, author of AC/DC FAQ, visited The Marty and Fairlie Breakfast Show on Australian radio station i98FM to discuss her latest book. Click play below to hear about her work and maybe, just maybe, a word or two about the band behind the curtains...

Onstage and Backstage

About the Book
AC/DC FAQ spans AC/DC's 40-year career, starting from the band's inception in 1973. This book covers everything from their early days in Australia to their first tour of England and the United States. It also includes personal experiences, stories, conversations, and interviews by author Susan Masino, who has known the band since 1977. Rebounding from the tragic loss of their singer Bon Scott in 1980, AC/DC hired Brian Johnson and went on to record Back in Black, which is now one of the top five biggest-selling albums in music history. True rockers from the very beginning, AC/DC will continue to be heralded as one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time.

Halleonardbooks.com   Amazon      BarnesandNoble    IndieBound

Susan Masino has been a rock journalist for more than 30 years and has written 6 books, including The Story of AC/DC: Let There Be Rock, which has now been published in 11 languages. She helped create the 94.1 JJO Local Stage radio show, which she hosted from 1997 to 2004. Masino also appears in the Van Halen DVD The Early Years and the movie AC/DC: Let there Be Rock.

Marty Haynes and Fairlie Hamilton are the hosts of the Marty and Fairlie Breakfast Show, a blend of music, information, pop culture, competitions, views, interviews, news and sport that reflects life in the Illawarra--easy-going, proud, fun-loving, hard-working--without ignoring the bigger picture of things that happen in the world around us. Dave Thompson did an outstanding interview with WFMU last weekend about Joan Jett. Listen to the discussion about Joan and her recent induction into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.

Onstage and Backstage

About the Book
Bad Reputation: The Unauthorized Biography of Joan Jett is the unexpurgated story of Joan Jett, the single most exciting rocker of the American 1980s, one of the biggest-selling acts of the age, and one of punk rock's most valued elder statespeeps. Through its pages, a welter of exclusive interviews and observations paint what might well be the last great tale of rock hedonism, but one that comes with a twist in its tail. The rockers are women, the groupies are guys. It could have been the plot line for a movie or even a sitcom, but the Runaways, Jett's first band, made it happen, and Jett made it last.
